Intermediate First Aid in Ulukhaktok, NT

Local residents learn vital lifesaving skills to cap-off National Drowning Prevention Week 2024.

Six members of the remote Hamlet of Ulukhaktok, NT participated in the Lifesaving Society's Intermediate First Aid program at the end of National Drowning Prevention Week. Participants practised CPR, bandaging, immobilisation techniques and more. While the focus was on workplace first aid, participants came up with creative treatment options for care when out on the land including the use of snow to alleviate symptoms of frostbite.
